I loved this game so much that I came home from camp and bought it for my Xbox One and played it nonstop.

The writing is hilarious, the puzzles are tough but manageable, and even the villain, GLaDoS, is likeable and funny, with a dry sense of humor. I first played it at summer camp about 2 years ago, and I was hooked. Winning many game of the year awards, some critics consider it to be one of the greatest puzzle games of all time. Valve has been known to make phenomenal games and Portal's hit sequel, Portal 2, is no exception. I would say 10+ for the harder levels maybe, but probably younger would be fine with the less harder levels. For the gameplay style, it is a puzzle game that has some pretty challenging levels! But it is really fun. For swearing, there is the occasional вЂњdamnвЂќ, вЂњhellвЂќ, nothing вЂњbAdвЂќ. GLaDOS and Wheatley have dark quotes too. There are violent remarks, like the combustible lemons rant, but that is just dark humor. There are вЂњChaptersвЂќ of the game that you go through, with вЂњtest-chambers.вЂќ The вЂњviolenceвЂќ IвЂ™d say is the turrets and neurotoxin, but it isnвЂ™t that bad. You meet the вЂњcoreвЂќ Wheatley, and he guides you around for a short bit and helps you find GLaDOS again. In the game, you play as Chell, a silent protagonist from the 1st game. Portal 2 is a bit darker in terms of story, with GLaDOS. With ratmanвЂ™s writing on the walls (THE CAKE IS A LIE), GLaDOSвЂ™s quotes, but it isnвЂ™t that bad. Portal 1 is pretty dark, but not too dark.

IвЂ™ve loved the portal series for ages! Valve is an amazing developer, but their games arenвЂ™t usually for younger children. It also has two good songs at the end (Want You Gone, Cara Mia Addio) but there are some things you would want to know before getting it for your child. It has good humor,a good gameplay style, and amazing characters. In my opinion, portal 2 is one of the best games made.
